What is Kindermuik? Simply put, Kindermusik is a music and movement program. Each week in class you’ll play, listen, and dance to music that will impact you and your child in profound ways. Every song, story, and activity has a carefully chosen purpose in this creative curriculum—one that’s designed to stimulate and strengthen the vital neural wiring taking place in your child’s mind, right now.
The latest research with proven methods—that’s Kindermusik, too. The curricula incorporates ongoing, in-classroom studies with 30-years’ experience in music and child development. Plus, it's combined with the best music learning methods found in Orff, Kodaly, and Suzuki.
“Take-home” books, instruments and CDs from class let you take learning with you wherever you go. All while strengthening the emotional bond between you and your child.
The Suzuki Method, also called Talent Education or Mother-Tongue Approach, is an educational philosophy which strives to create high ability and beautiful character in its students through a nurturing environment.
Suzuki was a fine violinist, pedagogue, educator and humanitarian that believed in the great potential of music to enrich children's lives. The Suzuki Method is modeled on some of the factors present in native language acquisition, such as immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each person's developmental readiness to imitate examples, internalize principles, and contribute novel ideas.
The benefit of studying music, to Suzuki, was an increase in sensitivity and understanding that would lead to a better, more enriched life.
Currently, Music & Giggles offers Suzuki Lessons for little cellists.
